Natural gas engineering

World-class expertise for natural gas and its applications

Gas Network Modelling Imagery
Around the world Mott MacDonald has contributed to the development of gas projects for both owners and lenders. Our gas market expertise is built on a comprehensive understanding of deregulation and the price control process and our technical know-how is complemented by an awareness of the economic issues associated with each project.

We’ve been involved in regulatory reviews of gas utilities and have advised various major investors on prospective gas supply and distribution networks. Our experts plan and analyse production and processing facilities developed during the implementation of masterplanning studies and have the capability to engineer treatment facilities, gas despatch, transmission and receiving –meeting the specific requirements of our customers.

Gas network

Our leading expertise in designing natural gas transmission and distribution systems is recognised by world authorities. We’ve utilised some of the world’s most advanced software for analysing and developing best-fit distribution networks for our clients and have provided a full range of GIS services in areas such as oil and gas pipelines, municipal government, hydrology and natural resources.

A key example of our track record includes utilising high-resolution satellite images for projects in Pakistan, which were used for developing environmental assessments of a pipeline network. We also developed GIS imaging and network modelling for the Government of Macau as part of our feasibility studies on natural gas transmission into Macau. Using satellite and topographical data we successfully created a three dimensional model and were able to provide a detailed network analysis, gas demand forecasts, gas implementation plan, construction plan plus an economic and financial model of the scheme.
