Innovation Award for Power/Energy
Mott MacDonald was the EPCM Contractor in the Shell Gabon Rabi
Phase 3 project. The project was runner up for the
Institution
of Engineering and Technology Innovation Award for Energy for
2006 and won Energy’s Technology & Innovation Award.
British Expertise Awards 2006

HRH The Duke of Gloucester, Chairman of British Expertise, presents
Mott MacDonald’s oil and gas director Charles Ellinas with the
Joint Large Consultancy Firm of the Year Award.
We provided specialist technical support and detailed engineering
design services, including preparing specifications and
requisitions for materials. Eliminating gas flaring was the key
goal of
Cawthorne Channel Gas
Gathering. Flared gas costs Nigeria US$2.5 billion a year and
contributes significantly to environmental damage. Now, through
saving gas, this sustainable project recovers US$600,000 per day.
Our consulting expertise were recognised via this award.
British Expertise Awards 2007
At the British Expertise Awards ceremony held in November 2007 Mott
MacDonald won a
Highly Commended Award within the
Sustainability Project category for
Project Polar. We were also
honoured as the
Major Consultancy Firm of the Year. Project
Polar in China involved the destruction of the highly potent
greenhouse gas HFC-23, eliminating the equivalent of more than four
million tonnes of carbon dioxide. The project has been an
outstanding success, which is recognised via this award.
'Innovating the Art of Safety' Award
In May 2007 we were awarded the prestigious safety award from Air
BP for our work at Hamriyah. The project involves importing jetfuel
through a new unloading facility at the existing LPG jetty at
Hamriyah Free Zone into a new shore tank terminal, and transferring
the fuel to the existing aviation fuel depot at Sharjah
International Airport.
PDO Awards HSE Best Performance Award
We were awarded the 2006 'HSE Best Performance' award by Petroleum
Development Oman (PDO) for our work on
PDO’s integrated engineering,
maintenance and construction (EMC) services contract for North
Oman oil and gas concessions.
